About PERA

The Punjab Enforcement and Regulatory Authority (PERA) was established under the Punjab Enforcement and Regulation Act, 2024. The authority aims to improve the enforcement of scheduled laws across Punjab by supporting enforcement officers with operational assistance, mobile squads, and modern regulatory mechanisms.

PERA Sergeants will serve as the operational backbone of the authority by assisting enforcement officers during inspections, raids, recoveries, and law enforcement operations.

Eligibility Criteria

Qualification

Candidates must possess:

  • Intermediate (FA/FSc/ICS/I.Com or equivalent)
  • The degree must be from a recognized Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education.

Age Limit

  • 18 to 26 Years
  • No age relaxation is allowed, even for government employees.

Physical Standards

Male Candidates

  • BMI: 27 or below
  • Height: 173 cm
  • Chest:
    • Normal: 32 inches
    • Expanded: 34 inches or above
    • Minimum expansion: 2 inches
  • One Mile Running:
    • Must complete within 7 minutes
  • Eyesight:
    • 6/6 with or without glasses
    • Color blindness is not allowed

Female Candidates

  • BMI: 27 or below
  • Height: 162 cm
  • One Mile Running:
    • Must complete within 11 minutes
  • Eyesight:
    • 6/6 with or without glasses
    • Color blindness is not allowed

Job Responsibilities of PERA Sergeant

Selected Sergeants will perform operational and enforcement duties, including:

  • Assist SDEOs, EOs, and IOs in enforcing scheduled laws.
  • Support officers during inspections, searches, raids, and enforcement operations.
  • Help recover imposed fines and assist in lawful arrests where required.
  • Operate as part of mobile enforcement squads within assigned jurisdictions.
  • Assist in entering, inspecting, searching, and sealing public properties where permitted by law.
  • Support entry, inspection, and search of private properties under valid warrants.
  • Help collect and preserve electronic evidence.
  • Assist in seizure and confiscation of goods, vehicles, articles, and properties related to offenses.
  • Guard confiscated items and maintain proper records.
  • Safely carry, use, and secure officially issued weapons and gadgets.
  • Ride motorcycles and drive official vehicles when required.
  • Perform duties under the Buddy System.
  • Carry out any additional responsibilities assigned by the Authority.
